Jason Soto worked for the Reno Police Department for 25 years, serving as chief of police from 2015 until his retirement in 2023. Chuck Allen served 25 years as a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper and member of the Nevada Air National Guard prior to his election as Washoe County sheriff in 2014. Brian Allen served in the Sparks Police Department for 22 years before his appointment as chief of police where he served for six years until 2019.

Reno man sentenced to 16 years in prison for drug trafficking charges

A Reno man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison, after he pled guilty to Trafficking 100 Grams or more of Fentanyl and Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Darrel Beal was sentenced to 4-10 years and 1-6 years respectively, to run consecutively for a total of 5-16 years, according to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.
